Swimposium 2025 Wraps Up: Local Events, National Impact

Seven cities. Two countries. 383 delegates. 50+ speakers. One strong community.

The 2025 ASSA Swimposium series has officially wrapped, after delivering seven face-to-face events across Australia and New Zealand. From Perth to Auckland, swim schools came together to connect, learn, and grow – without needing to get on a plane.

Designed as mini-conferences with maximum impact, the Swimposiums were built around what’s practical, relevant, and real. With over 50 speakers drawn from within the industry itself, the sessions were led by people who know what it’s like to be in the water, running the rosters, and navigating the day-to-day of swim school life.

Whether it was stroke progression, early childhood engagement, onboarding staff, or supporting neurodivergent swimmers, the focus was on providing tools and ideas that educators could take home and put into action the very next day.

“I took bits from all sessions. It was just the tip of the iceberg really.”
“The additional needs session was incredible. I’ve never seen someone present with that level of passion.”
“I’m actually annoyed at myself that I didn’t invite my swim instructors. I thought it would be more management focused—but they would’ve gotten so much out of it.”
Across the board, feedback has been clear:
  • 94% of attendees would recommend it to a colleague
  • Most want to see it run twice a year
  • Educators walked away with new approaches for AI-generated visual aids, improved customer journeys, and more inclusive teaching strategies.
ASSA CEO Luke Daly said:
“This isn’t just about ticking the PD box. It’s about helping swim schools and educators grow with confidence, and with each other. These events are built by members, for members, and that’s why they work.”

A sincere thank you goes out to the presenters who gave their time, experience, and ideas along with the ASSA partners who back this work and make it all possible. The Swimposium isn’t just an event series, it’s a reflection of what the ASSA network stands for: practical learning, generous sharing, and building a better future for our industry, together.
