Gulliver’s Coomera are celebrating over 25 years

This week ASSA CEO Luke Daly paid a special visit to Gulliver’s Coomera – an iconic swim school on the northern Gold Coast with deep roots in Australia’s learn-to-swim history.

Founded in 1998 by local legend Terry Gulliver, the centre has become a cornerstone of the Upper Coomera community. But Terry’s influence stretches back even further, with a career in swim instruction that began in 1975. Over the decades, he’s helped thousands of Australians embrace the water. One of those swimmers was none other than former ASSA General Manager Emily McNeil, who was taught to swim and later coached by Terry himself.

Now celebrating over 25 years of operation, Gullivers Coomera has evolved into a vibrant, multi-functional facility catering to families of all ages – all while staying true to its roots in swim education and community connection.

Thank you for having us Terry, Lara and the team at Gulliver’s Coomera.
