In this role, you will undertake duties such as:

– teach swimming lessons in accordance with WaterPonyz curriculum, AUSTSWIM, Swim Australia and Royal Life Saving’s guidelines

– develop lesson plans and update skills list

– depending on qualifications and experience, deliver a range of swimming lessons, including learn to swim and babies and toddlers

 

The roles we have available are casuals, but we do offer permanent shifts running all year long.

We are open Monday, Wednesday and Thursday: morning and afternoon + Friday, Saturday and Sunday: morning.

The start and finish times may vary depending on the number of enrolments and there may be additional shifts available (permanent and covers)

Qualifications:

– current Learn to Swim Teacher License

 What is the role?

Nurture achieve and celebrate our team and culture by coordinating our people life cycle from end to end, in recruitment, employee administration & compliance, performance, stakeholder relationships, and employee experience, plus supporting our Head of Teaching with the learning development of our teaching team.  You’ll work part time approx. 3-4 days a week, and may include weekend working.

 Key Tasks

  • Source talent & recruit new team members through networking, advertising, interviewing, selection
  • Negotiate employment terms, preparing and issuing employment contracts and offer letters
  • Coordinate onboarding and induction training of new employees with Head of Teaching and Service Team
  • Source information for Director and Managers re Employment Law, Relations, Policies, Enterprise Agreement
  • Ensure compliance with Fair Work Australia, National Employment Standards, Enterprise Agreement
  • Contribute to goal setting, & performance reviews to support people in achievement of goals
  • Carry out initiatives re Employee Experience, Training, & Performance Improvement
  • Assist in people centric performance support towards prevention & resolution of workplace problems
  • Work with Leaders & Service Team to establish and monitor employee training plans & their learning progress
  • Meet with trainees / employees to prepare for & review learning progress through 1:1 meets
  • Optimise & administer employee records in HRIS Platform ensuring data is current and compliant
  • Assign & administer learning for skill gaps, and enhance skillset & expertise of frontline team
  • Optimise content in LMS Platform, building engaging & effective online learning to compliment live delivery
  • Drive amazing culture with communication, feedback, coaching, learning, surveying, recognition, performance support, social events
  • Undertake HR projects for the development of people, and improvement of policies, systems, processes

 The Candidate

You are experienced in a swim school setting, perhaps as a Senior Teacher, Administrator or Supervisor, with a passion for moving into a people based role, in a learning based workplace.  You can display understanding of the role our swim teaching and customer service teams play.  You understand the importance of fostering stakeholder relationships between our team and Director, balancing employee and business needs for all round wins.  You can effectively communicate with diverse demographics in our business, from our young adults starting out to our senior team members, in our unique Circle of Life non hierarchical structure.

As part of Coulter Swimming, our pool deck supervisors (PDS) are responsible for leading a team on their shift to ensure high quality, age-appropriate swimming instruction and for providing a welcoming and safe environment to help our students to develop essential skills and confidence in the water.

Development Swim Coach – Gold Coast


Join our supportive team and patrons at the Gold Coast’s largest, privately owned, indoor swim centre. We proudly produced over 20 school age champions last year and we want to better that this coming year.

Swim coach required to guide and mentor development level squads in our indoor, heated 8 lane, 25m pool in Upper Coomera.

Work with our world-class swim staff to build and product swimmers of and to a competitive level.  Availability Monday to Saturday, swim meet attendance required.

Hours negotiable & a-plenty.  Must hold currency in:

About your new role

The Swim School Coordinator leads and manages all aspects of aquatics programs including the YMCA NSW Swim School program, Schools Swimming lessons and Lane Hire.
The successful applicant will be required to have a firm knowledge and understanding of all aspects of the YMCA NSW Swim School program, educational trends and industry development.
